Photo Storyboard
Create a storyboard for your video project using actual pictures of the locations that you wish to use. Place the photos in Word, Powerpoint, FCE, or whatever program you like and then add your comments about camera movement, script, music, sound effects, action, etc.
Using photos of the actual locations will give you a much better idea of framing, lighting, backgrounds (and maybe even background sound - but you have to listen really hard :) )

App Soft 30S
Final Cut - Test 1

  • A background for part of the video that is one of your PS creations (it can be a new creation). Use a JPG version.

  • At least two keyframed motion sequences (change in size or rotation or position)
  • A music track with at least two different music pieces. The music must fade in and out.
  • At least 3 sound effects
  • At least two video filters

Hand in the test when you are done

Clean Earth Assignment

Create a 30 second video that tries to convince the audience that they should do one thing to reduce the amount of green house gas they produce. Useful web sites - Suzuki Challenge, Environment Canada, EPA -US Kids, Personal Emissions Calculator, The WeatherMakers, How to Stop the Planet From Burning, Your Carbon Rating, Two People, Green Tech

Details

  • Alone or with a partner
  • Your own music is preferred
  • Storyboard must be done first - this will change once you have your info and all your video, but you need an outline storyboard to start
  • Storyboard example - http://www2.hawaii.edu/~ricky/etec/example.html
  • Do some research and talk to people before you begin

Use long or extra long shots to establish the scene or place
Use different camera distances and angles for interviews.
Use an external microphone for your audio
Check the lighting and background before you start shooting video
Use text to reinforce the verbal message more than one thing can be on the screen at a time!

Assessment - in addition to the above
Does your message come across convincingly?
Does your video guide the viewer to the conclusion or does it get in the way of teh message?
Is the sound good - clear and enough volume for the interviews?
